It's been good!

After spending last week in the booth at the Springfield Sportsman Show and talking with hundreds of people the one questiion asked most was how was the winter. In my opinion this was a milder then normal year. The snow didn't cover the ground in our area till 2 weeks before christmas. This alone gave the deer a easy start. Through out the last couple months we have had minimal snow fall and the one big rain in January made a crust so the deer could stay on top. As I type this we are getting a new storm but it's the end of February and it won't last long. So I think that the herd will definately benefit from this easy winter . Deer aren't bunching up in any one area so the coyotes will have to work to get them and hopefully the fawn crop this year will be bigger due to the less stress placed on the does.
