Prep work for the year
There just isn't enough hours in the day at this time of year. There are so many things to do. Food plot maintenance is a big one. Clint has been out running himself ragged ,spraying, seeding all the plots and adding a few more. Keeping a plot growing is not only a lot of labor but a big expense with bags of seed costing a couple hundred dollars. I guess it's well worth it though.
Gathering bait for bear season is about done now we need to start opening shooting lanes, and setting tree stands. We picked up some new territory@ 15,000 acres. Doing some leg work to find some good stand sites is the order of the month. Some of the game cams we have out are showing bears at the old sites checking them out looking for a tid bit. Can't wait to start lugging bait!
The moose lottery has come and gone and agian no permits for us here at Western Maine Outfitters. We have already had numerous inquires from hunters. There is nothing more exciting than calling in a 1000 lb. bull and watching the action.
Enough time spent on this computer back to the
woods!
