The passing of a friend

Normaly my computer brings me good news,but yesterday it was not the case. A client and new found friend, Matty Degirolamo passed away on sunday. I met Matty last year when he came to deer hunt the 3rd week of rifle season. Right off I could tell he had been around the deer woods a long time. He was a little rough around the edges but a very likeable man as were all his hunting buddies. He told me countless stories of past hunting adventures. As a guide I listened intently to every one. Many were of great bucks he had taken here in Maine in the past.Others were of shots that missed their mark in the more recent years. He told me of outfitters he had hunted with,some good some bad and I so badly wanted to be one of the good. His preferred way to hunt was from a stand and he told me if I put him in a good stand he could sit all day. I knew just the place to put him. The first day he saw nothing but loved the location and could'nt wait to hit there the next morning. The next day he climbed into his stand and around11:30 he tagged a nice 8 pointer. It had been a long time since he had filled his tag in maine and I was lucky enough to have been there when he did. Matty we are going to miss you buddy keep your eyes on us down here and I will watch Big Buck Bobby for you.
